Midland Christian School follows the Classical Approach to education, which is organized according to a three-part process of training the mind. This systematic method includes the grammar, logic, and rhetoric stages.
Each phase is tailored to the mental and emotional development of students as they mature. This approach teaches students how to think rather than what to think. The classical model produced the greatest thinkers, leaders and scientists in the Western world from the time of the Greeks until the late 19th century, including America’s Founding Fathers.
Classical Christian education builds on the traditional classical model with an understanding of God, man and nature that differs from the modern understanding. As a result, students develop critical thinking skills through a rich exposure to history, literature, classical language, math, science, arts and Bible, becoming truly “thinking Christians.”
Midland Christian School is the Great Lakes Bay Region’s only classical Christian school.
